Commissioner's Bio: Marty started coaching youth league
baseball and basketball teams in 1979 while still in high school. He
continued through 1982. He took a few years off to get married and start
a family. In 1994 he coached his oldest son's t-ball team. He continued
to coach 2 younger sons and serve as a local league president. He
then took on the job as coach and Mecklenburg County league president.
In 2004 he became Babe Ruth / Cal Ripken district commissioner. Through
the years he has served as tournament director in many area, state and a
couple of SE regional tournaments. When the districts were divided in
2011 he stayed on as Cal Ripken district 6 commissioner. He also helps
manage the Western North Carolina website. |
